A Saved Man that is World Controlled #4

Romans 8:9-11
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

The moment that we are saved the Spirit of God takes up His abode in our body. We need to realize that the moment we get saved the Holy Spirit makes our bodies the temple of His abode.

I Corinthians 6:19-20
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”

How can we know what is not of the Holy Spirit?
Take a look again at

I John 2:15-16
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

Now listen. every relationship of our bodies to every contact can be found in this reference. How about what we see? The television programs we watch? The books we read? The movies we see? How about what we hear? Would Jesus listen to the radio programs we listen to? Would He go and listen to the entertainment we listen to? Would He listen to the conversations we listen to? How about the music
we listen to? Or to say nothing to the neighborhood gossip, or the church gossip? Would Jesus listen to some of the things we hear about our church members, the pastor, or our fellow Christians?

Follow your nose. Where does it lead? Would Jesus set in the smoke filled club room? Or would He spend His time in the home where the air is blue with smoke? Would He seek fellowship in places where the smell of alcohol is present? We need to be sure that our noses are sniffing the things of the Holy Spirit.

What about our mouth? Oh yes, we immediately think of tobacco, alcohol and dope. But what about the food we eat? Are we food drunkards? Are we a slave to some rich foods? Or do we eat only those things that would be pleasing to God.

Here is something that is very important to our young people. Keep your hands where they belong when on a date. Ask God to let you use your hands in such a way as to bring glory to Him.

We must guard every one of our five senses. Anything that Jesus Christ would not do in His body must be put away from our bodies. God guarantees He will bring us to ruin if we defile His temple.

I Corinthians 3:17
“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

If we defile this body, God tells us we will end up on the rocks, a shipwreck. Oh the pity of living in God’s second best, living a broken-hearted life. Beloved, surrender to the Lord and let God circumcise your heart. If we will die to the sins of our bodies, this body of ours will be wholly God’s that that which is not of God will be rejected. Are we willing to take such a step? There is a terrific battle going on right now within some of you here right now. A battle between the worldly man and the spiritual man.

Romans 6:12-13
“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”
