John 10:7-10
“Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The first responsibility of the Church toward the sinner is to bring him to Christ that he might be saved.

Matthew 28:19
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations...”

Our first job is to get people saved. Every facet of the church should be geared to this end. The New Testament makes it very plain that the sinner without Christ is dead in trespasses and sins.

Ephesians 2:1
“and you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.”

It is only Christ that can give him life.

I John 5:12
“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

But when the sinner turns to Christ and receives Him as personal Saviour, the job has just begun. It is the responsibility of the church to cultivate this new life. Say, just how much has your life been cultivated? To cultivate this life the believer must recognize three things.
Recognize the Lordship of Christ. Recognize the importance of God’s Word. Recognize the person of the Holy Spirit.

These three areas we will be digging into in the next Nuggets of Gold.
